v1.0.0
Initial release4 Jun 2026
Added & improved
- For customers — post a job, receive and compare quotes, book and pay online, plus a full customer portal.
- For tradies — lead scoring, quoting & invoicing (with PDF export), Stripe payments, smart scheduling, recurring jobs, real-time messaging, portfolios and reviews.
- Business tools — team management & timesheets, fleet tracking & geofencing, multi-warehouse inventory, purchase orders, takeoffs, supplier catalog, job costing, run sheets and multi-company support.
v1.1.0
Messaging & scheduling overhaul2 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Schedule hub — a new calendar at /tradie/schedule (month view, day detail, create-event), with Run Sheets, Timesheets and Time Tracking unified as tabs under one "Schedule" nav entry.
- Quote negotiation — customers and tradies can now Accept, Decline, or Counter-offer, volleying back and forth with a live price trail until a price is agreed.
- Messaging toolkit overhaul — the duplicate Quote / Variation / Materials tools are merged into one "Send for approval" set, with a clean tick / cross approval on the card.
- Purpose-built composers — Quote (valid-until, deposit, GST), Variation (change type, reason, timeline) and Materials (quantity/unit, supplier, lead time) each collect fields specific to their job.
- New toolkit actions — "Create Reminder" schedules a customer follow-up, and "Assign Employee" adds the job to a team member's run sheet.
- Profile page — full-width redesign with an Overview tab, a completeness meter, real phone verification and a verification panel.
- Settings page — full-width two-column layout with a summary sidebar and live hero stats.
- Business switcher now shows each business's uploaded logo instead of initials.
- Conversations fill the full page width; composer modals restyled with consistent spacing, a fixed header/footer and a branded blue scrollbar.
- Friendly message previews in the inbox and notifications ("Quote sent — $3,000") instead of raw data.
Fixed
- Counter-offers were silently rejected by the server — now accepted.
- The negotiation card no longer sticks up the thread; it follows the latest offer to the bottom.
- Settings had a duplicate "Availability" tab — consolidated into Business → Hours.
- Settings → General "Email" field was blank — now populated.
- Notifications from the same person now collapse into a single "N new messages" entry instead of stacking.
- Removed the AI-style quick-reply chips from the message composer.
- Fixed a binding error on the Profile password fields that could crash the page.
- Fixed uneven spacing in the approval composers.
v1.2.0
Propose a Visit + full-width chat2 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Propose a Visit — a new messaging tool: offer the customer up to three times, they tap one to confirm, and the confirmed slot is automatically added to your Schedule as a site visit / job / meeting (with the job's address, your chosen duration and a reminder). The card is colour-coded pending → confirmed / declined.
Fixed
- The expanded Messages view now fills the full width of the screen instead of sitting in a narrow centred column.
v1.2.1
Messages workspace polish2 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Messages is now a full-viewport workspace — the hero (and the Expand button it made necessary) is replaced by a slim brand bar with unread / need-a-reply chips and the Live status, so the inbox and conversation get the whole screen on any monitor.
Fixed
- The connection badge no longer sticks on "Connecting…" when the chat was already live — it now correctly shows green Live on every visit.
v1.3.0
Messenger-grade messaging3 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- People search & direct messages — one search box finds your chats and people (team, subbies, customers, directory tradies) with role chips; tap Message to start a direct chat, or use the ✏️ New Message button to see your whole network.
- Pin · Mute · Archive — a ⋯ menu on every conversation: pinned chats sort to the top, muted chats stop bell notifications, archived chats move to an Archived view (inbox filter: All / Unread / Pinned / Archived).
- Profile photos in chat — the other person's photo shows in the inbox, thread header and beside their messages (one avatar per message run, Messenger-style).
- Facebook-style times — centred time dividers between message groups; per-bubble timestamps replaced by a hover tooltip.
- Messenger reply layout — "You replied to…" label with the original message as a grey ghost bubble your reply overlaps; tap it to jump to the original.
- Download & Forward — hover any message to Forward it to another chat (with preview), and Download photos.
- The messages top bar no longer shows a Connecting/Live pill — presence lives on people (green dots and last-seen).
Fixed
- Mobile chat bubbles were being squeezed by the hover-action buttons — phones keep just reply + react and bubbles get their width back.
- Sender avatars now re-anchor after a time gap and sit at the bottom of a message run.
v1.3.1
Apple emoji everywhere3 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Emoji picker in chat — a 😊 button in the composer opens a curated Apple-artwork picker (Smileys, Gestures, Hearts, an "On the tools" trades section, Celebrate & weather, Symbols). Pick a few in a row, Messenger-style.
- Apple emoji everywhere in messaging — emoji render as Apple's artwork on every platform (no more flat Windows glyphs): bubbles, reactions, reply previews and inbox previews, with a safe fallback to the native glyph.
v1.4.0
Chat-to-action tools, Schedule hub & account split3 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Chat tools create real records — Invoice, Visit ↔ Callout Fees, Variation ↔ Job Management, and Materials ↔ Materials Hub (with in-composer supplier-catalog search and live totals).
- Schedule rebuilt — Google-grade calendar, event details/edit/delete, job-linked events, 15-minute time dropdowns with duration chips, and a redesigned event modal.
- Calendar filters & layers — toggleable type chips with counts, a persisted Filters panel, and auto-overlays of booked work (accepted jobs with one-click Schedule it, online bookings, callout appointments).
- Disputes → calendar — offer a fix-it visit that's free/busy-checked, lands job-linked on your calendar and notifies the customer.
- One Schedule hub — Calendar, Run Sheets, Timesheets and Time Tracking share a permanent tab bar and one identity.
- Settings & Profile split — searchable Facebook-style rails on both; security and account data now live under Settings, and Profile gains a public bio field.
- Import / Export rebuilt — live record counts, one-click CSV exports, and an honest import wizard with per-row validation.
- Pricing page redesign — segmented billing toggle and an elevated Most Popular plan card.
- Help Centre now stays inside the dashboard for signed-in users.
Fixed
- Exports and lists that crashed once real data existed (invoices, customers, variations — SQLite decimal aggregation).
- Customer CSV import failing against the app's own template, plus new per-row email validation.
- Run Sheets freezing for 100 seconds when the weather provider was unreachable.
- Empty job pickers in Job Management, Expenses and Job Manager (wrong API route).
- Tool popups rendering behind the app nav, a failing invoice payment recorder, a 404ing import template download, and fresh-tab sign-in bounces on several pages.
v1.5.0
Design-unity sweep: hubs, safety systems & zero-state frameworks3 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Materials Hub gets the searchable hub rail — Stock, Procurement and Library sections, direct links to all eight destination pages, live count chips.
- Subcontractors redesigned — one premium card template, compliance warnings up front, a slim Live-now strip and a pixel-aligned toolbar.
- Team page cleanup — one toolbar card for quick actions + filters, no duplicate stats.
- Safety / SWMS documents now show risk ratings (Low → Extreme), review-due flags and approval state on every card.
- Permits & SWMS zero-states now demonstrate the whole system — lifecycle pipeline, permit types, document types and a worked example instead of an empty message.
Fixed
- Rainbow accents removed across Subcontractors, Team and Safety pages — one brand blue, status colours on chips only.
- Subcontractor card grid hung outside the toolbar edges (Bootstrap gutter mismatch).
v1.6.0
Assets, Smart Leads & app-wide polish3 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Assets register overhaul — hero-band cards with category artwork, a grid/list view toggle, a type filter with a live summary, stat-tile KPIs, ledger-style cost tables, on-brand sign-out cards and a brand-blue add-asset modal.
- Smart Leads redesign — the Today daily-briefing rebuilt, real grid discipline on lead cards, trade photo banners, one honest match bar, a brand comb across all five tabs, Best Bets merged into Today, and scores that auto-refresh on load.
- Forms — a flagged-response engine, submission reports, an actions register and a store library, plus a drag-and-drop form builder.
- App-wide hero polish — a segmented-control replaces the file-folder tab strip everywhere, the right-hand stat rail is un-squished and ~35% smaller, with premium rhythm across every hero banner.
- QuickChat dock windows — full interactive cards (invoice / booking / visit), Facebook-style date separators, system notices, and windows that persist across sections and reloads.
- Layout tidy — landing header centred, Import/Export uses the full width, and the Schedule month grid is locked to perfectly even cells.
Fixed
- QuickChat dock windows hung off-screen on the landing page.
- Form builder reorder / duplicate / save actions were broken.
- Smart Leads pick-card rows now align across cards.
v1.7.0
Fleet Hub — the connected fleet4 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Ambient vehicle status — the hub watches for you; owner-side tracking buttons are gone and a Needs-attention panel surfaces what matters.
- Driver Mode — brand polish, suburb search + basemap switcher (matching the job map), and trip controls moved into the console.
- Trips & compliance — trip history + route replay + ATO-logbook classification, a GPS-driven odometer and a hardware-tracker webhook, fuel log & running-cost tracking, and proactive alerts.
- Customer ETA sharing — a live "your tradie is on the way" tracking link.
- Pre-start vehicle inspections (NHVR-style daily checks) and geofence-driven timesheets that turn site visits into billable time.
- Reports & exports — trips, utilisation, ATO logbook and attendance as Excel (.xlsx) and PDF.
- Vehicle types (utes → boats → diggers) with a search & filter toolbar, persistent Fleet section tabs, and house-restyled Geofences, Vehicle Maintenance and Fleet Map.
Fixed
- Fleet Map rebranded from teal to the house system; the Driver Behaviour rainbow dashboard replaced.
- Fleet report PDF row-split bug and cold-start slowness.
v1.8.0
Field tools — Fuel Finder & the Quick Tools dock4 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Fuel Finder — a branded nearby petrol-price map with live NSW FuelCheck prices (and a realistic sample fallback outside coverage), brand-marked station pins, pan-to-search that reloads as you move the map, and smart clustering when zoomed right out. Banks our own price dataset over time.
- Quick Tools dock — a floating, draggable app-launcher (replacing the old bug button): a frosted-glass FAB that springs open into a scientific calculator (full keyboard input), a unit converter, GST / markup / margin trade maths and a scratchpad.
- Fleet vehicle cards — premium per-type hero banners with real openly-licensed vehicle photos and smart type detection.
Fixed
- Fuel Finder pins no longer scatter "into the sea" when zoomed out — loading is viewport-driven and debounced.
- Nav tidy — Fuel Finder moved under the Tools dropdown, Materials Hub below Fleet Hub.
v1.9.0
Billion-dollar design sweep5 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- My Quotes rebuilt as a responsive card grid (no more dead-space rows) — a blue pipeline, live inline actions and status-tinted cards.
- Permits rebuilt as an enterprise data table — real columns, colour-coded expiry urgency, a compliance attention bar, premium status badges and inline quick-actions.
- Safety Documents rebuilt as a compliance module — human-readable document types with distinct icons, uniform cards, a compliance strip and sort / type filters.
- Booking gets a rich empty state that demonstrates the 24/7 booking desk (the flow + an example request), plus a Job Vault card redesign.
- Quick Tools — every tool now opens at one consistent size; the Scratchpad is a premium ruled Notepad with word/char count and autosave; and Report a bug opens as an in-panel popup with photo upload, steps and scrolling.
Fixed
- Quote Builder rebranded from emerald/green + gold to brand blue, and its content padding fixed (was running edge-to-edge).
- Booking rebranded from indigo/violet to brand blue.
- Off-brand colours purged from My Quotes (gold/purple) and across the swept pages.
v1.10.0
Photo-hero design system, security hardening & smart dashboards11 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- A striking new photographic banner rolled out across the whole app — dashboards, jobs, leads, materials, schedule, invoicing, quotes, fleet, safety and the public marketplace pages all share one premium look.
- Your dashboard now greets you with a smart, time-of-day welcome that changes through the day, with cleaner, more premium typography and layout.
- A single, consistent hover-glow across every card and hero, and hero stat cards that are now a uniform size on every page.
- Easier navigation — Variations & Defects and Quote Templates are now first-class menu items.
Fixed
- Major security hardening — a full audit closed 12 issues and the API now requires sign-in on every page unless it's meant to be public.
- "Remember me" now genuinely keeps you signed in between visits.
- Tidied up stray pages: retired a duplicate worker dashboard and gave Run Sheets and Time Tracking proper page titles.
- Customer pages (My Jobs, My Invoices, Compare Quotes, Pay) now match the new banner design.
v1.10.1
Fix: takeoff measurement drawing (cut-outs + all shapes)12 Jul 2026
Fixed
- Takeoffs: measurements you drew on a plan — areas, lines and cut-outs — showed on screen but didn't save and vanished on reload. They now save reliably, including cut-outs that subtract from an area.
v1.11.0
Marketplace card redesign — Browse Jobs & Find Tradies13 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Browse Jobs cards redesigned — calmer, premium layout with a single bold budget figure, a quiet quote-state pill ("Be the first" / "3 quotes") and a proper View Job button.
- Find Tradies cards rebuilt — rank badge and green "available now" dot on the avatar, a Verified · Insured · Licensed trust line, rating / jobs-done / response stats, and one-click Request a quote right on the card.
- Both marketplace pages now share the app's brand-blue hover glow on every card.
Fixed
- Directory completion rate showed "1%" instead of "99%".
- Large budgets and long business names no longer get cut off — they display in full at every screen size.
v1.12.0
Web Push, Alarms, National Emergency Alerts + Remember-me fix14 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Push notifications you can actually turn on — reach you on your device even when the app is closed (Android, desktop, and iPhone once added to the Home Screen).
- Alarms & timers on the dashboard clock — one-off, weekday-recurring, or quick timers that ring with sound + vibration and a live countdown above the clock; they fire even with the app closed.
- National emergency alerts — a clear banner appears across the app for official bushfire/flood/storm warnings in your state, sourced and cleared automatically; admins get a management console.
- Supplier Rankings redesigned — branded photo hero, Supplier of the Month, a top-3 podium and a full ranked table.
- Browse Jobs cards tidied — budget, quotes and buttons now sit in one clean bottom bar.
Fixed
- "Remember me" now reliably keeps you signed in across reopens and multiple tabs — returning users were being logged straight back out.
v1.13.0
Marketplace polish, unified Job Manager & Accounting (QuickBooks + MYOB)16 Jul 2026
Added & improved
- Accounting sync: QuickBooks & MYOB now match Xero — real sign-in, auto token refresh, and push of contacts, invoices and payments to your books, with correct GST and draft-first posting so nothing hits your ledger unreviewed.
- Job Manager is unified: the separate Variations & Defects page is gone and everything lives in a single, redesigned Manage tab under Jobs (old links redirect automatically).
- Marketplace polish: tidier Browse Jobs and Find Tradies cards, a subtle animated hero on Find Tradies, and a refreshed landing page.
Fixed
- The Find Tradies hero animation that looked right on Mac but broke on Windows now renders consistently across browsers.
v1.14.0
Native iPhone app + works without signal4 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- QuoteTrades on iPhone as a real installed app — the same screens, the same features, running natively on the device rather than in a browser tab.
- Works without signal: pages you've already opened keep working in a basement, a lift well or out past the last tower, and the app tells you how old what you're looking at is.
- Work done offline is saved on the device and sent the moment you get signal — timesheets, time tracking, expenses, mileage, site photos, forms and sign-offs. A counter shows how many are still waiting so nothing quietly goes missing.
- One set of screens for web and phone, so every feature now lands on both at the same time instead of the phone trailing behind.
v1.15.0
Search & sharing overhaul4 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Every QuoteTrades link now shares properly — post one to Messenger, WhatsApp, LinkedIn or a group chat and it shows a branded picture, headline and summary instead of a bare grey box.
- Pricing is now a public page. Anyone can read the plans and what's in them without signing in first.
- Suppliers can now show their star rating directly in Google results, and pages carry the "Home › Suppliers › …" trail instead of a raw web address.
- News articles are listed for search engines with their publish dates, so recent stories can be found while they're still current.
Fixed
- The Help Centre and the free templates page were nearly invisible to search engines — they had almost no page information attached. Both are now described properly.
- Team invitation links were being offered to Google. They're private links, so they're no longer listed or indexed.
v1.15.1
Faster pages4 Aug 2026
Fixed
- Pages now start drawing before the whole app has finished downloading. Around 2 MB of scripts used to load before anything appeared on screen — they now load alongside the page instead of in front of it.
- Photos across the site are about a third lighter with no visible change, which makes every page quicker on a phone or a patchy site connection.
- Cleared 59 accidental duplicate image files (~18 MB) left behind on the build machine.
- Page banner photos now start loading immediately instead of waiting on the rest of the page, so the top of every page fills in sooner.
v1.15.2
The rest of the public site5 Aug 2026
Fixed
- About, Careers, Contact, Privacy, Terms and Cookies were invisible to search engines — real pages with real content that were never listed and carried no page information. All six are now described properly and included.
- Sharing any of those pages now shows a proper preview card instead of a bare link.
v1.15.3
Search metadata that can't quietly rot5 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- A tradie's public booking page now carries their business name in search results and link previews, instead of a generic "Quote Trades".
- Job listings now show the job and its suburb when shared or found in search.
Fixed
- The "For builders / renters / home owners" pages and course lessons now share with a proper preview image.
- Removed a leftover demo page that shipped with the app by accident.
v1.15.4
Lighter pages on a phone5 Aug 2026
Fixed
- Images further down a page now load only when you scroll to them, instead of all at once. Long lists — suppliers, courses, news, portfolios — use noticeably less data on a phone or a patchy site connection.
- The main picture at the top of a page still loads straight away, so the page doesn't look empty while you wait.
v1.16.0
Marketplace health + an invoice numbering fix5 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Admin: a Marketplace Health report at /admin/marketplace answering the one question no other dashboard asks — when a customer posts a job, does a tradie actually answer, and how fast?
Fixed
- Invoice numbers could very occasionally clash, which stopped an invoice saving at all. The random part of the number is now far larger, so it can't realistically happen. Existing invoice numbers are unchanged.
v1.17.0
Tradies actually get told about new jobs5 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Post a job and matching tradies are now notified — in the app and by email — with the suburb, distance where known, and the budget, so they can decide at a glance.
- Notifications go to a small, ranked group first rather than everyone at once. If the job still hasn't been quoted after 15 minutes it reaches more tradies, and wider again after an hour.
- Tradies are never told about the same job twice, and jobs stop chasing after 24 hours.
Fixed
- New-job notifications were silently failing to send. Of 97 jobs posted, exactly one notification had ever reached a tradie — which is the main reason posted jobs were going unanswered.
v1.18.0
Describe your job before signing up6 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- You can now fill in the whole post-a-job form without an account. You only create one at the very end, so tradies have somewhere to send your quotes.
- If you do sign up at that point, your job details are waiting for you when you come back — nothing is retyped.
Fixed
- Posting a job used to demand an account before showing you anything, which is the single biggest thing standing between a customer and a quote.
- Signing in or signing up part-way through something now returns you to what you were doing instead of dropping you on a dashboard.
v1.19.0
You'll never just hear nothing6 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Post a job and we keep you posted: a couple of hours in we tell you how many local tradies it reached, and if nobody has quoted after a day we say so plainly and suggest what usually gets a job moving.
- If we genuinely don't have tradies covering your trade in your area, we tell you that instead of leaving you waiting.
v1.20.0
Tradies find out when their profile is costing them work6 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- If we can't tell what trade you do or where you work, jobs can't be matched to you — and now we tell you that, once, instead of leaving you with a quiet app.
- Admin: a match-readiness view showing how many tradies can actually be reached, plus a one-click backfill of work locations.
v1.21.0
Real response times, and a trustworthy marketplace report7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- "Replies in about an hour" on a tradie's listing is now measured from how quickly they actually respond to jobs, instead of being a placeholder.
Fixed
- The marketplace report no longer shows a green 0% when there is simply no data for the period — it says so plainly, because 0% read as a perfect score.
- Tradie response times were shown to customers without ever being calculated. They're now hidden entirely until there's real data behind them.
v1.22.0
See who your job actually reached7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- While you're waiting for quotes, your job now shows how many local tradies it was actually sent to — instead of a vague promise that quotes are coming.
Fixed
- If we genuinely don't have tradies covering your trade in your area, your job page says so and suggests what helps, rather than leaving you waiting indefinitely.
v1.23.0
Where to concentrate7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Admin: a density view showing where customers and tradies actually coexist — and, just as usefully, where there are customers with nobody to serve them, or tradies with no work to quote.
v1.24.0
Your tradie gets first shot at your next job7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Post a job in a trade you've hired for before, and the tradie you actually used is notified first — with a ten-minute head start before anyone else sees it.
- Tradies get told when a past customer needs them again, which is the best lead any tradie can get.
v1.25.0
Groundwork for finding workers7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Foundations for the new Find Workers section: labourers, trade assistants, apprentices, operators and licensed tradespeople can all have a work profile — not just licensed trades.
- You choose who can see you: everyone, employers only, limited details, or nobody — and you can hide from specific employers by name while staying visible to everyone else.
v1.26.0
Find Workers — search for staff, not just applicants7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- A new Find Workers page: search labourers, trade assistants, apprentices, operators and licensed tradespeople who are open to work — including people who haven't applied to anything.
- Filter by role, apprentice year, tickets they must hold (White Card, heights, forklift and more), work type, area, licence class, own tools or vehicle, and expected rate.
- Expired tickets never count towards a requirement, and are shown as expired rather than hidden.
- When a search finds nobody, it shows where the people actually are instead of an empty box.
Fixed
- Scoped page styles could serve a stale cached copy after an update, leaving pages unstyled until a hard refresh.
v1.27.0
Employers can reach you — only if you let them7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Set yourself as open to work on the new Open to work page: your role, tickets, rate, area, and what you're after. It's off until you switch it on.
- Hide from any employer by name. They simply don't see you, they're never told, and you stay visible to everyone else — so you can look while you're still employed.
- Employers can now message people who haven't applied for anything. You get a notification and decide.
- They never get your phone number or email unless you say yes. Saying no is one tap, needs no reason, and they can't ask you again for six months.
- Employers see their approaches in one place, with contact details for everyone who said yes.
v1.28.0
Advertise a job, take applications, hire someone7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Post a vacancy from Hiring → Vacancies: role, pay, area, tickets needed, and how many you're after. It goes on the job board straight away.
- See everyone who applied in one place, with their tickets and contact details, and move them through shortlist, interview and offer.
- Looking for work? Browse jobs going and apply in one tap. Your applications page shows where each one is up to.
- An offer is yours to accept or turn down — accepting is what adds you to their team, and nothing happens to your account before that.
- Ads without a rate say so, rather than pretending. Being upfront about pay is the single biggest thing that gets a trade ad answered.
v1.29.0
Trade Careers, Phase E: saved searches and alerts7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Save any search and get told when something new matches — on Find Workers, and on the job board.
- You choose hourly, daily or weekly, and you can pause an alert without deleting it.
- One message covering everything new, never one per match — and nothing at all on days when there is nothing.
- Saving an alert never sends you a backlog of people or jobs that were already there. The first alert is genuinely the first new thing.
- Your alerts page lists everything you are being told about, on both sides — people you are looking for, and work you are looking for.
v1.30.0
Trade Careers, Phase F: describe who you need7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Describe who you need in your own words on Find Workers — "2nd year sparky with a white card near Parramatta under $35" — and the filters fill themselves in.
- It understands trade slang: sparky, chippy, brickie, TA, offsider, appy, white card, EWP, MR licence, own ute.
- Everything it worked out is shown as a tag you can remove, so it never quietly narrows your search without telling you.
- If it can't make sense of something it says so, rather than pretending it understood.
- Runs on your own machine and costs nothing, and the search still works normally when it is switched off.
v1.30.1
Name the tradies dispatch cannot see7 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Admin → Marketplace now lists tradies who can never be sent a job, and why — no licence, no location, or a broken profile record.
- Most are a single missing field away from receiving work, so this turns an invisible problem into a list you can act on.
v1.31.0
Trade Careers, Phase G: proof of work8 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Find Workers now shows what we have actually checked about someone: verified trade licence, police check, insurance, ID, and jobs they have completed through QuoteTrades.
- Filter on those facts — "verified licence and a current police check" — instead of trusting what someone typed about themselves.
- Anything expired is shown as absent rather than current, and a completion rate is held back until there are enough jobs for it to mean anything.
- Someone with nothing verified is not marked down — most labourers will have none of it, and that is normal.
v1.32.0
Trade Careers, H and I: shortlists and guardrails8 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Shortlists — save anyone worth remembering to a named list, long before you are actually hiring.
- A shortlist always reflects who is still available: anyone who stops looking, or who has hidden from you, quietly drops off it.
- Posting a vacancy now warns you if the rate is under the minimum wage — including the casual loading, which is the easiest one to get wrong.
- It also flags wording that can make an ad unlawful (age, sex, health, family status, nationality) and suggests what to write instead.
- These are prompts, not blocks — you can still post, and the wording is always yours.
v1.33.0
Recent numbers, and desktop layouts that use the screen8 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Recent numbers in the quick-tools dock — the last invoices, purchase orders, quotes and variations you raised, reachable from any page.
- Tap any number to copy it. Handy when someone rings asking for a PO number while you are in the middle of something else.
- Tap the rest of the row to open the record itself.
Fixed
- The hiring pages were laid out for a phone even on a desktop — a narrow column with most of the screen empty. They now use the full width, with filters in a side rail and cards two across.
v1.34.0
Tenders Phase 0: is there anyone to bid8 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Groundwork for commercial tenders: a new admin report showing whether there are enough fully-compliant tradies in a trade and state to run a competitive tender.
- Counts only tradies with a verified, unexpired licence AND current insurance — the bar a commercial client actually sets.
- Highlights where the platform is one or two certificates away from being able to host a real tender.
v1.35.0
Ask tradies for the one document blocking commercial work8 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Admins can now see which tradies are a single document away from being able to bid on commercial work, and ask them for it.
- The message names the exact document rather than saying "complete your profile", and goes out as both a notification and an email.
- Nobody is asked twice within 90 days, and anyone who supplies the document in the meantime is automatically skipped.
v1.36.0
Multi-company: two businesses, properly separate10 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Commercial tenders. Put a package of work to market — open to the board or by invitation — and compare sealed bids after close. Nobody can see a price before the deadline, including us.
- Bidders can flag what your scope is missing. It's priced separately and never added to their total, so telling you costs them nothing — and if two bidders spot the same gap independently, you're told.
- If you run more than one business, they're now genuinely separate: separate jobs, invoices, gear, hours, team, payments and accounting.
- Each business has its own reviews and rating. A new business starts fresh rather than inheriting the other's — which is what a customer choosing between them deserves to see.
- Both your businesses are findable in the directory, each under its own name, ABN and logo.
- The same person can work for both businesses, with their own rate and hours at each.
Fixed
- Editing one business could silently overwrite the other's details. Whichever business you have selected is now the one you're editing.
- The pipeline board can be dragged and scrolled properly, and no longer fights you when you scroll up.
- Pages no longer cut content off the edge of the screen on a phone.
- The lead pipeline no longer fails to load when a linked record is missing.
v1.37.0
The phone app fits every phone11 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- The app opens on a proper QuoteTrades launch screen — the brush mark and wordmark from the website, instead of the app's name cut off mid-word.
- The home-screen icon is the QuoteTrades mark, matching the website and the installed web app.
- Pages load faster on a phone: the libraries we use are now served by us rather than fetched from five other sites first.
Fixed
- Pages fit the screen. No more pinching to zoom out to see the whole page — checked on every page, from the smallest iPhone to the largest.
- The top bar fits: your profile button is on screen, and its menu opens where you can read it.
- Filter bars, tab strips and button rows no longer run off the edge — they wrap or slide instead.
- The admin analytics page never finished loading at all. It opens instantly now.
v1.38.0
The tradie app follows the design system13 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Every tradie page now uses the same set of colours as the rest of QuoteTrades. The greys were very slightly blue on these pages and warm everywhere else, which is why moving between your jobs and, say, your invoices could feel like two different apps stitched together.
- Status colours are consistent wherever they appear — paid green, overdue amber, cancelled red mean the same shade on every page.
v1.39.0
The whole app portal follows the design system13 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Messages, the customer pages, the business hub and the admin tools now use the same colours as the rest of QuoteTrades — finishing what started with the tradie pages. Every screen you can reach after signing in is now one consistent set of greys, blues and status colours.
- Status colours mean the same thing everywhere: the green on a paid invoice is the green on an active team member is the green on a completed job.
v1.39.1
The phone audit can see the admin pages14 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Internal: the automated check that every page fits a phone had a blind spot — it could not open the staff-only admin tools, so it was quietly passing them without ever looking. It now checks those too, and refuses to pass a page it was not actually able to open.
v1.39.2
The sign-in pages match the app14 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Sign in, Create account, Forgot password and Reset password now use the same colours as everything behind them — so the first screen you see and the app you land in agree.
v1.39.3
The Business section folds away, and nothing tells a homeowner to pay16 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- The BUSINESS section in your sidebar now folds away. Those eight tools are for people managing multiple sites — if you're here to get a washing machine looked at, tap the heading and they're out of your way. It opens itself if you're on one of those pages.
Fixed
- Removed a "PRO" badge and a banner offering a paid Business plan. There is no paid plan for customers and there never will be — everything on your side of QuoteTrades is free, permanently. Those tools are free to use too.
v1.40.0
One place to set a thing, one record for a person16 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Your subbies now appear in Contacts, and their card warns you when their licence or insurance is about to run out — so the address book can't tell you someone is fine when they aren't. Tap through to their full record to change anything.
Fixed
- Automatic review requests could be set up in two places — Reviews and Follow-ups — which were quietly the same setting. Change the wording in one and it changed in the other, with nothing to tell you. Follow-ups now owns it, alongside your other automatic messages; Reviews shows what's set and still lets you ask any customer directly.
- You can no longer file a subcontractor in Contacts. It looked harmless, but a contact card has nowhere to record a licence or insurance expiry, so a subbie stored there looked complete forever.
v1.40.1
Accounting can no longer pretend to be connected17 Aug 2026
Fixed
- If an accounting provider's API keys weren't set up, pressing Connect could create a connection that looked real and then reported invoices as synced without anything reaching Xero, QuickBooks or MYOB. It now tells you plainly that the provider isn't connected yet and changes nothing. Your books can no longer appear to sync when they aren't.
v1.40.2
Smart Leads shows real jobs, not invented ones17 Aug 2026
Fixed
- Smart Leads used to show four made-up jobs to tradies without Pro. They're now real open jobs from the live board — so what you see behind the Pro lock is the actual market, and if it's quiet the page says so. The scoring, suggested bid and competition figures stay blank until you're on Pro, because those are the part Pro works out.
v1.41.0
Tenders has a front door, and customers can run one17 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Tenders is now in your Business menu. If you run several sites and want the same job priced properly by a few verified tradies, you can put it out to tender from there — it was built, but there was no way to reach it short of typing the address.
- Running your first tender sets up your business record automatically. You no longer hit "set up your business first" with nowhere to go.
v1.41.1
Customers keep their menu17 Aug 2026
Fixed
- Post a Job, Find Tradies and Browse Jobs used to throw you out of your account and onto the public website — menu gone, mid-task, with tradie recruitment ads at the bottom of the page. They now open inside your account with your menu where you left it.
- The BUSINESS section shows how many tools are inside it, so a closed section no longer looks like an empty one.
- Only one menu item highlights at a time. Posting a job used to light up "Browse Jobs" as well.
- Admin pages could flash "Access Denied" at an admin for a moment before loading.
v1.42.0
The customer dashboard leads with what's happening18 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Your dashboard now opens with the one thing that matters — who's working on your job, or which quotes are waiting on you — instead of a row of counters.
- Your spending is shown properly: what you've paid over the last year, and which trades it went to. It only appears once you've actually spent something.
Fixed
- A brand-new account no longer lands on a screen of zeros. It gets one sentence and one thing to do.
- Removed the Quick Actions panel — every link in it was already in the menu beside it.
v1.43.0
See your next visit, and any changes to your job18 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Your job page now shows when someone is next coming — the day, the time and who it is — right at the top.
- Changes to a job are now shown to you. If your tradie proposes extra work after the original quote, you'll see what it is, why, and what it costs, with the approved ones totalled up.
Fixed
- The phone app could read from two different servers at once — one screen showing live data and the next showing something else. It now has a single connection for everything, including chat and vehicle tracking.
- Vehicle tracking on the phone was sending location to an address that doesn't exist. It now reaches the real server.
- Internal: a testing switch that makes a development server enforce the same rules as the live site, so trying something out gives an honest answer.
v1.44.0
Where your job is up to, and what it will cost18 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Your job page now shows a progress track — posted, quotes in, booked, underway, done — so you can see what's behind you and what's next.
- If your tradie bills the job in stages, you'll now see the whole payment plan: what you've paid, what's been invoiced, what's still to come, and when each part is due.
Fixed
- The floating tools button offered homeowners trade pricing tools they had no use for, like markup and roof-pitch calculators. Customers now see just the handy ones — calculator, converter, notepad and report a bug.
- On a phone, the tools in that floating menu had no labels at all — just coloured squares. They're now named.
v1.44.1
The Business tools no longer say a tradie is coming when none is19 Aug 2026
Fixed
- The Business "Get help now" flow said your job had been sent to tradies and that one was booked and scheduled. Nothing had been sent — those tools are still a preview. It now says so plainly, and points you to Post a job, which does reach real tradies.
- Sample data in the Business tools is now labelled on every page, including the detail pages and the tradie contracts page. Before, only the list pages carried the notice.
- Internal: information typed into the Business preview was held in memory shared by everyone using the server. It is now per-session.
v1.44.2
Recurring jobs are now locked to the person they belong to20 Aug 2026
Fixed
- Security: recurring job templates could be viewed, and new jobs created from them, by signed-in people they didn't belong to. Every one of those actions is now checked against the owner. No customer data was exposed publicly — the gap was between business accounts.
v1.45.0
Recurring jobs actually recur20 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Recurring jobs now run on their own. Until today the schedule was stored but nothing ever raised the job — you had to do it by hand. It is off until switched on for a site, so nothing starts happening unannounced.
- If a schedule was left dormant for months, it now picks up from today instead of raising every job it missed. Your tradie will not arrive to a stack of back-dated work.
v1.46.0
Recurring jobs, end to end20 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Recurring Jobs is a real page now. Set up work that repeats — a fortnightly mow, a quarterly service — and see its next due date, pause or resume it, and look back at every job it has raised.
- Each one is posted as an ordinary job when it falls due, so tradies quote on it the same way and it turns up under My Jobs.
Fixed
- Recurring jobs could only be set up by trade business accounts, even though the schedule belongs to the customer. Homeowners can now create and manage their own — and only their own.
v1.46.1
Your real schedules show up in Coming up20 Aug 2026
Fixed
- The Business "Coming up" list showed sample visits instead of your own recurring schedules. It now shows yours, with the sample entries clearly marked, and dates counted from today rather than from a fixed demo date.
v1.47.0
Groundwork for real properties20 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Behind the scenes: properties, their units, contacts and compliance certificates are now real records rather than samples. The Business screens that show them are being connected next.
- Compliance dates are worked out fresh every time you look, so a certificate can never sit there saying it's valid the day after it expired.
v1.47.1
Properties, for real20 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Properties is a real page now. Add the places you own or look after, keep their certificates, units and contacts together, and see what's about to lapse before it does.
Fixed
- Dates picked in a form were being saved one day early — a certificate you entered as expiring on the 5th was stored as the 4th. Fixed here and in recurring job start dates.
v1.48.0
Assets, and what they've cost you20 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Assets is a real page now. Track the aircon, the cool room, the fire panel — where it is, when it was last serviced, what's still under warranty.
- Every service and repair can be logged against an asset, and the page shows what you've spent on it against what it would cost to replace. That's the number worth having when something fails for the third time.
v1.48.1
Compliance shows what you've recorded — and what you haven't21 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Compliance is a real page now. Every certificate across every site, ordered by what lapses first, with a dated CSV export for your insurer.
- It also tells you how many of your sites have nothing recorded at all. The old percentage would have called that 100% covered, which was never true.
v1.48.2
Maintenance costs, honestly scoped21 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Reports is real: what servicing and repairs have cost, split into planned versus things breaking, by site, by month, and ranked by which piece of plant is eating the budget.
- It tells you plainly what it can't see. Jobs booked through the marketplace aren't linked to a property yet, so their cost isn't included — and the page shows how much that is rather than quietly leaving it out.
v1.48.3
Your workspace setup sticks21 Aug 2026
Fixed
- Choosing which Business tools show in your sidebar now saves properly. It used to reset the moment you refreshed the page.
v1.48.4
Preferred Tradies is a real roster21 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Keep the tradies who do good work. Add them from the directory with the rate you agreed and your own notes, and mark who to ring first.
- Their rating, jobs completed and verification badges come straight from their profile every time you look, so what you see is current rather than whatever was true the day you added them.
v1.49.0
Jobs can be filed against a property21 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- If you keep properties, posting a job now asks which one it's for — and fills in the address for you. One property and it's picked automatically; none and you're not asked at all.
- Each property has a Work section showing every job filed against it, so a site's history lives in one place.
- Jobs posted earlier can be attached to a property from the job itself, whenever you know which one it was.
v1.49.1
Correct contact addresses22 Aug 2026
Fixed
- Our Contact, Careers, Privacy, Cookies and Terms pages listed email addresses on the wrong domain, so mail sent to them reached nobody. They now all read @quotetrades.com.
v1.49.2
The contact form actually sends22 Aug 2026
Fixed
- The "Send us a message" form on our Contact page was never connected to anything — filling it in and pressing Send did nothing at all. It now reaches us properly, and tells you if it can't get through instead of pretending it worked.
- The Subject dropdown on that form was being ignored. Your chosen topic now comes through with the message, so we can get it to the right person faster.
v1.50.0
Contact enquiries survive a failed send24 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Messages sent through our Contact page are now saved the moment they arrive, before we try to email them on. If that email fails for any reason, your message is still with us rather than lost.
- Admins get a new Contact Submissions page listing every enquiry, with anything that failed to send flagged so it can be chased instead of quietly disappearing.
v1.50.1
AR Tool placeholder24 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- You may notice an "AR Tool" appear in your sidebar marked SOON. It is a placeholder for something we are building — there is nothing to use there yet, and the page says as much if you open it.
v1.51.0
AR Tool preview, and quieter failures25 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- New AR Tool in your sidebar. It lists your properties and, once one has been scanned, draws the floorplan with each room's size, ceiling height and wall area. Scanning itself isn't switched on yet — it needs the iPhone app, and we'll let you know when it's ready.
- Tradies quoting a job now see the property's real measurements — room sizes, ceiling heights and wall areas — where the property has been scanned, so quotes can be priced without a site visit.
Fixed
- Some emails could fail to send without leaving any trace — including account verification, which would leave a new account unusable. Failures are now recorded so we can spot and fix them.
v1.52.0
Pin issues to a room26 Aug 2026
Added & improved
- Pin issues to a room in the AR Tool — a title, a note and photos, so "toilet won't flush, main bathroom" lives on your floorplan instead of in a text message.
- Each issue stays private until you choose to share it. Attach one to a job and every tradie quoting that job can see it; switch it back to Not shared and they can't.
v1.52.1
ABN Verified means the register said soLatest26 Aug 2026
Fixed
- The "ABN Verified" badge was being shown for simply having entered an ABN, rather than for it being checked against the Australian Business Register. That overstated things to customers, so we've corrected it.
- If your badge has disappeared, nothing is wrong with your ABN — we just can't confirm it against the register yet. We're setting that up, and the badge comes back automatically once we can check it properly.
